Committed Responsible Diligent
Approachable Insightful Dedicated
Welcome
We are here to support you with your Chinese Red Dog.
Our ethos is around prevention - not cure. And our aims are to educate owners and future owners in order to reduce the number of Chinese Red Dogs ending up abandoned or in shelters. We want to be in a position to help anbybody in crisis.

What we can do for you
-
Provide information about reputable breeders who know the breed and are working towards their preservation in the UK.
-
Offer advice and support before you get a dog and after you get a dog.
-
Signpost you to qualified trainers and behaviourists.
-
If the need arises, we have 5 star facilities to get your dog out of problems quickly.
-
As a last resort we will help to rehome your dog with full back up for life.
-
We will help and advise any other reputable rescue who take stray/pound Chinese Red Dogs.
-
All Chinese Red Dogs who come through us will be neutered, titre tested, be given relevant vaccinations, relevant health tests as and when required, registration to protect the future of the breed, appropriate training, love and care.

Fosters
Could you foster for us?
From time to time we requires fosters for our dogs. If you would like to offer your space and time to take care of one of our dogs we would love to hear from you.

Adoptions
Our process for adoptions.
It's important that any dogs we have taken in go to the right homes, so we have a set procedure.
-
Application
We need to know some information about you and the environment that you will provide for a dog.
-
Chat with the team
One of our team will contact you for a chat to go over your application. This will also give you the opportunity to ask us any questions.
-
Chat with Foster Carer
Our fosters will have the best information about the particular dog that you are intersted in and chatting with them can help you to understand any needs that the dog will have. Again this gives you another opportunity to ask questions to make sure this is the right decision.
-
Adoption Agreed in Principle
Once forms and conversations are done an adoption agreement will be made in principle.
-
Homecheck
The homecheck is very important and without it we will not be able to continue with the adoption. We will work with you to find a suitable time for this to happen. We will not accept video home checks and we expect to be able to see at minimum the space in which you will provide for the dog to eat and sleep, the garden area and of course meet other pets and members of the family who will be staying with the dog.
-
Meet and Greet with all family members and your other dogs at fosters location.
It is important that dogs in our care meet you and the family before being adopted, and it's important that they feel safe and comfortable while doing this. You will travel to the foster to meet the dog and get to know them a bit better. If you live close by to a foster then we do encourage multiple visits but we must insist that there is a minimum of 1 visit to meet the dog before adoption can proceed.
-
Adoption Forms Signed with rehoming date, Transport Agreed & Care Costs Paid.
Once you have been able to meet the dog and think over your decision we will ask you if you want to go ahead with the adoption. At this point we will ask that you sign our forms and agree to a rehoming date. We will discuss the transport arrangements and ask that you provide a payment as guarantee for the next dog who comes into our care.
All dogs in our care will be titre tested, vaccinated and spayed/neutered. Any other veterinary procedures will be undertaken to ensure the health of the dog. These costs are covered by our adopters.
Chinese Red Dog Aid UK guarantee all dogs who come into our care are well fed, trained, rehabilitated and taken care of for life.
